Employee Benefit Plan Audit
Employee Benefit Plan Audit
An employee benefit plan audit is an independent examination of an entity’s employee benefit plan to ensure that they are operating in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and accounting principles. The main purpose of this audit is to provide assurance to plan sponsors, participants, and other stakeholders that the plan’s financial statements are fairly presented and that the plan’s assets are appropriately safeguarded.
The Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) sets forth rules and guidelines for the administration and reporting of employee benefit plans. Plans subject to ERISA generally require an annual audit if they have 100 or more eligible participants at the beginning of the plan year. Plans with fewer than 100 participants may be eligible for a waiver from the audit requirement.
We are experienced in auditing employee benefit plans and have a thorough understanding of ERISA regulations and provide assurance services for a wide variety of benefit plans that fall under ERISA. Our dedicated professionals possess the specialized knowledge and experience to help ensure compliance with the appropriate standards and changes in regulations that may impact your organization’s employee benefit plan and audit.
